The viewing Screen
As you face the Breeze vending machine, the viewing screen, made of glass,
is at approximately four feet from the bottom and towards the left side of
the machine.
The Transaction Buttons
On the left of the screen, a little more than halfway up, there are 5 raised
letters “A” through “E” from top to bottom in large
print and Braille. The actual transaction buttons are located to the left of
the letters. On the right side of the screen, there are 5 raised letters “F” through “J” from
top to bottom in large print and Braille. The transaction buttons are located
to the right of the letters.
The Cancel Button
Approximately 6 inches to the right of the “I” and “J” buttons
is the cancel button. Press that if you need to cancel a transaction. The word “cancel” is
written in raised print and Braille above the button.
The Coin Slot
Above the word “cancel” is a round mirror for sighted people to
use to see if someone is approaching. Approximately 4 inches to the right of
the mirror is the coin slot, which can be used for paying for Breeze cards
or tickets. To the immediate left of the coin slot is a button to use for coin
return. Below the coin slot is a list in Braille of the different coins that
may be used in the machine. They are $1 coins, quarters, dimes, and nickels.
The Bank Card Area
Below the viewing screen, on the left side, is raised print that says “Bank
Card” in raised print and “Credit/Debit” in Braille. The
keypad, to enter your PIN number, is in a recessed area immediately below the
raised print that says Bank Card. To the right of the keypad is the credit
and debit card slot. The machine takes Master Card, Visa, American Express
and Discover. The card needs to be put in with the magnetic strip on the upper
right side.
Tap your Breeze Card
To the right of the credit and debit slot is a smooth plastic blue circle
that says “Breeze” in print. This is where you tap your Breeze
card when the machine prompts you to do so. Above the circle it says “Tap
Card” in raised print and “tap here” in Braille.
The Bill Accepter
To the right of the smooth plastic blue circle that says “Breeze” is
the bill accepter. Bills should be laid flat and placed in the slot either
face-up or face-down. To the right of the accepter in raised print and Braille,
it states which bill denominations the machine accepts. The accepter takes
one, five, ten and twenty dollar bills.
The Audio Button
On the left side of the machine, directly under the bank card keypad is the
word “Audio” in raised print and Braille. Below the “A” in “Audio” is
the audio button. Push that and the machine will speak the directions. To the
right of the button is a headphone jack that you may use if you choose.
Card/Change/Receipt Dispenser
Near the bottom of the machine, about two feet up from the floor, in the center,
is the product dispensing unit. Above it in raised letters and Braille it says “Card/Change/Receipt.” This
is where you would retrieve your Breeze card, change or receipt by pushing
in the plastic flap covering the opening.
