On Monday, February 21, 2011, the MARTA Board of Directors took an all access tour of the system meeting with staff at stations and facilities to experience first-hand the variety of activities that go into providing quality transit service to our customers each day. From Five Points, board members traveled by train and bus to the Police Department’s East Precinct, Laredo Bus Garage, Rail Control Center, and Armour Rail Yard. Board members learned about the preparation and maintenance work required to roll out vehicles each day, the frontline activities that occur to help customers traveling the system, and MPD’s multilayered approaches to keeping MARTA safe.
