Rail On-Time Performance

Definition: Measures how closely the service ran to schedule (delays no longer than 5 minutes), as experienced by the customer. Many factors affect on-time performance. Factors such as mechanical problems, or speed restrictions are within our control. Others like medical emergencies are not. Regardless of the cause, MARTA strives to work around problems, minimize delay, and maximize on-time performance.

Performance (September 2017):

In September, met the Target; the actual being 97.36%. 124 delays were due to passenger related issues (medical emergencies/door obstructions/police interventions), 114 delays were due to rail car failures, 42 delays were due to track work and 66 delays were due to issues related to Automated Train Control (ATC) issues.
