New MARTA Bus Service Modifications Booklet Available
ATLANTA—The Metropolitan Atlanta
Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has published a new
service modifications booklet for MARTA riders outlining
approved bus service changes that are effective June
26, 2004.
As a result of MARTA’s public hearings
in April, the MARTA Board of Directors voted May 24
to approve the Authority’s FY’05 operating
and capital budgets that included service modification
to its bus operations. The booklet contains information
on approved bus routes modifications and frequencies,
MARTA’s new small vehicles that will replace regular
buses on designated neighborhood routes, and frequently
asked questions. “Thanks to our public hearings
process and community exchange sessions, MARTA was able
to take the public’s feedback and provide better
service within our budget constraints,” said MARTA
General Manager/CEO Nathaniel P. Ford, Sr. “If
no additional sources of funding are identified to support
MARTA, more modifications may be needed next year.”
Published in English and Spanish, both
booklets will be made available at MARTA RideStores
at Lindbergh Center and Five Points stations, MARTA
rail stations and parking facilities, as well as the
offices of the Latin American Association and the Hispanic
Chamber of Commerce. In addition, all new bus service
schedules will be published in orange and made available
on the buses and MARTA RideStores June 21.

trip planning based on the new service, customers can
