Employment Application Guidelines for Civilians
MARTA seeks to hire the best-qualified applicants for any opening. Your qualifications for the position for which you apply will be evaluated based upon the information you provide on the application form. We need your help in providing accurate dates and descriptions for all the jobs you have held, and for all education and training. Without complete, accurate information, we will be unable to process your application. You need to include a copy of your resume for our resume tracking system.
1. Complete all sections of the Application for Employment.
Print or type all information, filling in all applicable blanks.
In the Education and Experience section(s), give detailed information including dates (Month and Year), supervisors' name(s), and telephone number(s). Remember that your employment decisions are based upon the accuracy of the information you provide us.
Review the “Conditions of Employment” on the last page, sign and date your application as it will not be processed without your signature.
2. Sign and date the Education and Employment Verification Form(s). Do not complete any other portion(s) of these form(s).
3. Complete the Applicant Information Form (optional). We use this information for statistical reporting and to help us assess the success of our recruiting efforts in reaching all members of the community we service. This information is not used for selection purposes.
4. The package also includes several waivers and release forms that are necessary to process your application and which require your signature. Three (3) of these forms must be notarized which means they need to be signed in the presence of a notary public.
In addition, the following items must be returned with the application package:
Copy of your high school diploma, GED or official high school transcript
Copy of your driver's license
Copy of your social security card
Copy of your birth certificate
Copy of your DD214 long form (if applicable)
IF YOU FAIL TO SUBMIT THE ABOVE ITEMS WITH YOUR APPLICATION, YOUR APPLICATION CANNOT BE PROCESSED AND WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
Your application will be given to the appropriate investigator, who will review the information you provided. Any information you provide concerning your qualifications is subject to verification. If selected for an interview, you will be contacted by phone or letter. We will only contact those applicants in which we have an interest.
