On-Board Emergency Instruction
MEDICAL
- Notify the Train
Operator via train intercom
- Be prepared to identify the car number you are in, this
will allow emergency personnel to respond more quickly
- If you are a qualified medical professional and able
to assist, notify the Train Operator via intercom
EVACUATION
- Do not exit train
unless directed to do so by MARTA or emergency personnel
- Tracks are electrified and trains may be operating on
opposite tracks
- Door release handles (located toward the bottom of the
doors) are only to be used upon instruction in the
event of an actual emergency
POLICE
- Alert the Train
Operator via train intercom of any unlawful or suspicious
behavior
- Notify the Train Operator via train intercom of any unattended
packages
- Be prepared to identify the car number you are in, this
will help police respond in an efficient manner
FIRE
- Remain calm
- Move to an unaffected car
- Notify the Train Operator via train intercom
- Do not enter a train car with visible flames
- Listen for and follow instructions of MARTA employees
and emergency personnel
