Procurements Less Than $100,000

Most of the goods and services, which MARTA procures, are obtained through competitive bidding. MARTA may solicit either verbal or written quotes, depending upon the dollar value of the item being purchased.

Procurements $100,000 and Greater

On purchases of $100,000 and greater, MARTA follows a formal procurement process. A number of Vendors are notified of MARTA's intent to obtain bids. The procurement is advertised locally at least twice, and upon the scheduled deadline for receipt, bids are publicly opened and read aloud.

Advertising For Bids

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

MARTA is generally required by law to advertise procurements of $100,000 and greater in the local newspaper of largest circulation. In the Atlanta area, this is the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, published daily in the morning. The ads appear in the Legal Notices section of the newspaper, typically on Monday.

MARTA's Vendor Database

MARTA's Vendor Database is a detailed listing of all persons and companies who have expressed an interest in doing business with MARTA.
