MARTA HOSTS ADDITIONAL
OPPORTUNITY FOR CAMPBELLTON CORRIDOR RESIDENTS, STAKEHOLDERS WITH COMMUNITY
MEETING AUGUST 21ST
ATLANTA - The
Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will hold a pop-up meeting
this weekend to further engage residents, stakeholders, and business owners in
the Campbellton Corridor Transit Project. The meeting is Saturday, Aug. 21,
from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA located
at 2220 Campbellton Rd. SW in Atlanta. The event is hosted in conjunction with
Atlanta City Councilmembers Cleta Winslow, Joyce Sheperd, and Marci Overstreet.
MARTA customers
and other stakeholders are invited to learn more about the project and weigh in
on the historic transit investment planned for the corridor. Attendees will
hear about the proposed transit modes, take a survey on the preferred
high-capacity transit options, and can ask questions directly of the project
management team.
“Campbellton
Corridor represents the heart of a thriving and evolving part of Atlanta that
includes one of MARTA’s busiest bus routes,” said MARTA General Manager and CEO
Jeffrey Parker. “This investment will continue to transform the area by
offering a high-capacity transit option to improve connectivity, accessibility,
and travel time while promoting transit-supportive development. It’s critical
for us to share information and receive important feedback from those who live,
work, and spend time in this corridor as we continue to advance this dynamic
project.”

About the
Campbellton Corridor Transit Project
MARTA, in
collaboration with the City of Atlanta, is investing in high-capacity transit
in the Campbellton Corridor to improve connectivity, accessibility, and
mobility in southwest Atlanta. The corridor, which links the Greenbriar Mall
area to the Oakland City MARTA Station, is home to established neighborhoods
and businesses and is currently served by one of MARTA’s busiest bus routes –
83 Campbellton Road. This historic multimodal investment will greatly enhance
the service area and transform how residents travel to points of interests
while supporting the community’s growth and development for years to come.
