Lawrence Prescott, Jr.

Interim - Chief of Capital Programs, Planning & Innovation
 

Lawrence Prescott, Jr. currently serves as the Interim Chief of Capital Programs, Planning and Innovation at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and is responsible for implementing the agency’s transit expansion plans. 

Mr. Prescott has over 20 years of experience working on MARTA projects and more than 32 years of progressively responsible engineering experience. During his almost two year tenure at MARTA he has served in the role of Senior Director of Engineering and AGM of Infrastructure. Before joining MARTA, he was employed with HNTB, a national infrastructure design firm. Through his employment with HNTB, Mr. Prescott was a Senior Engineering Technical Advisor to MARTA’s Office of Engineering and Development, providing technical oversight for planning, design procurement, design services during construction, implementation of projects/programs/studies, and inspection for over 12 years.

Mr. Prescott has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Southern College of Technology, Marietta, GA. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Georgia and is also a LEED Accredited Professional.
