Performance (September 2016 and Fiscal year-to-date):

The Cost per Rail Passenger Trip of $2.63 in September was lower than the forecasted $2.64 by $0.01, or 0.4%. This favorable variance is due to net under-runs in budgeted expenses. The 2017 Fiscal Year-to-Date (months of July through September) Cost per Rail Passenger Trip of $2.73 exceeded the forecasted $2.69 by $0.04, or 1.5%. This unfavorable variance is due to rail ridership falling short of the forecast by 1.6 million unlinked passenger trips.
