The Department of Bus Operations is responsible for the overall management and coordination of MARTA’s bus transportation and maintenance functions. The department is made up of the Office of Bus Transportation, the Office of Bus Maintenance, and the Office of Contracted Bus Services. The department’s responsibilities include management of the budget, staff, and equipment necessary to provide bus services that are safe, reliable, and customer friendly, as well as the development of policies and procedures that support achievement of the departments goals
- Bus Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance for all non-revenue vehicles, buses and para transit revenue vehicles. The office has approximately 418 employees and five (5) primary areas of operations: Brady, Laredo, Hamilton, Brownsmill Heavy Maintenance and Perry
- Bus Transportation, with approximately 1500 employees, covers three (3) primary areas of operations: Perry Blvd. Hamilton Blvd. and Laredo. This office is responsible for the daily transport of passengers on the fixed route bus system.
