Assistant General Manager, Communications & External Affairs
Mrs. McClendon has 18 years of professional experience working for local governments and public transit. Currently, Mrs. McClendon is the Assistant General Manager (AGM) for the Department of Communications and External Affairs that includes the Offices of External Affairs, Marketing and Communications, Customer Services and Media Relations. Collectively, the department is responsible for the Authority’s marketing and advertising initiatives; facilitation of positive customer experiences; effective media relations through timely and accurate dissemination of information; and fostering grass roots transit initiatives and serving as liaison to all levels of government and the communities MARTA serves. Mrs. McClendon’s transit career has afforded her multiple levels of engagement as a policy maker, transit employee and as a liaison for local governments. Mrs. McClendon was MARTA Board Chair for two of the five years she served. Prior to her current position Mrs. McClendon served the Authority as the AGM of the Department of Planning.
