Assistant General Manager, Safety and Quality Assurance
Georgetta Gregory is the Assistant General Manager of Safety and Quality Assurance with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). Her duties include direction and management of System Safety, Quality Assurance, Configuration Management, Document Control, Environmental Safety, Construction Safety, and Occupational Safety and Health. Ms. Gregory began her tenure at MARTA in August, 2010. Prior to joining MARTA, Ms. Gregory was the Program Manager for the California Public Utilities Commission of which she held responsibilities for Statewide Highway-Grade Crossing Safety and Rail Transit Oversight. Ms. Gregory began her transportation career with the Union Pacific Railroad where she retired after 31 years of dedicated service as Senior Manager of Terminal Services.
In 2010, the Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration appointed Ms. Gregory to the Transit Rail Advisory Committee for Safety (TRACS).
Ms. Gregory is a member of the American Public Transportation Association where she is a member of the Rail Safety Committee. Ms. Gregory has also participated in APTA Peer Reviews for the Virginia Department of Transportation and the MTR in Hong Kong, China.
As a long-time advocate for Rail Safety, Ms. Gregory supports Operation Lifesaver, Inc. and is a former board member of the California Operation Lifesaver Program.
