MARTA SERVICE CHANGES

Effective April 14, 2018

Several of MARTA's bus routes are being modified to improve overall service and on-time performance. The following changes will go into effect on Saturday, April 14, 2018.  For additional information, please visit www.itsmarta.com or call us at (404) 848-5000.

Service Change Description

Route 1 – Marietta Street

The south end of the route has been realigned to serve Ashby and West End Stations.  From Marietta Boulevard, Route 1 will now continue south to West Marietta Street, east to Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard and south to Ashby Station.  From here, the route will continue south to West End Station via Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and West Whitehall Street (northbound via Lee Street and York Avenue.)  Service along the remaining portions of Route 1 will now be provided by Routes 14, 26 and 51.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 1 – Marietta Boulevard / Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard. 

Route 3 – Martin Luther King Jr. Drive / Auburn Avenue

Service has been streamlined to provide continuous routing along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.  Route 3 will now continue across The Gulch via Mitchell Street (eastbound) and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. (westbound).  Customers in Castleberry Hill will continue to be served by new Route 813.  In addition, selected trips to Florida Heights will now be served by new Route 867.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.

Route 12 – Howell Mill Road / Cumberland

Route 13 – Atlanta Student Movement Blvd. / Hunter Hills

The western terminus of the route will be realigned to West Lake Station.  Customers in Hunter Hills will now be served by new Route 853.  In addition, westbound routing between Georgia State Station and Five Points Station will be realigned to operate via Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Central Avenue, Wall Street, Peachtree Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Forsyth Street.  Westbound passengers at Five Points Station will now board the service along Peachtree Street.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 813 – Atlanta Student Movement Boulevard.

New Route 14 – 14th Street / Blandtown

New Route 14 assumes segments of the Ellsworth Industrial Drive pattern currently operated by Route 1 and will provide new service on 14th Street.  From Midtown Station, the service travels via West Peachtree Street (Spring Street southbound), 14th Street, Howell Mill Road, Huff Road, Ellsworth Industrial Drive, Chattahoochee Avenue and Marietta Boulevard to Moores Mill Shopping Center.  This new service will operate daily on a 30-minute frequency.  Please refer to the new Route 14 printed service schedules for specific trip times.

Route 24 – McAfee / Hosea Williams

A new eastbound trip has been added on weekdays.  The new trip will depart Candler Park Station at 4:25 AM.  Please refer to the new Route 24 printed service schedules for specific trip times.

Route 26 – Perry Boulevard / North Avenue

The south end of the route has been realigned to serve Five Points Station.  From Bankhead Station, Route 26 will return to West Marietta Street via Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and Marietta Boulevard and resume eastbound travel, continuing to southbound Marietta Street.  The route will then serve Five Points Station via Forsyth Street, Alabama Street, Peachtree Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive back to Forsyth Street.  In addition, the select trips through Carver Hills have been modified to operate via McCallie Boulevard, Ajax Drive, Abner Terrace and Mary George Avenue.  Route 26 has also been extended west to serve Hollywood Road, Peyton Road, Bolton Road and James Jackson Parkway.  Service along the remaining portions of Route 26, including English Avenue and North Avenue, will now be provided by Route 50.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 26 – Marietta Street / Perry Boulevard.

Route 37 – Defoors Ferry Road

Route 39 – Buford Highway

Route 40 – Peachtree Street / Downtown

Trip time adjustments have been made to improve schedule adherence.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.

Route 50 – Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway

Service has been extended east to assume the English Avenue and North Avenue routing from Route 26.  From Bankhead Station, buses will continue east to North Avenue Station via Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, Northside Drive and North Avenue.  Select trips will operate an alternate routing via English Avenue (westbound via Fox Street and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard) and Cameron Madison Alexander Boulevard to Northside Drive.  In addition, Route 50 has been extended west on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway to serve Atlanta Industrial Parkway.  Later this summer, trips will alternate to serve either Atlanta Industrial Parkway or the new UPS Distribution Center on Fulton Industrial Boulevard.  Service along the remaining portions of Route 50, including Carroll Heights and Fairburn Heights, will now be provided by new Route 850.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.

Route 51 – Joseph E. Boone Boulevard

The east end of the route has been realigned to serve North Avenue Station.  At Marietta Street, Route 51 will continue east on Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard.  Alternating trips will serve either Luckie Street or Centennial Olympic Park Drive before continuing to North Avenue Station.  Service along the remaining portions of Route 51 will now be provided by Route 26.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.

Route 53 – Skipper Drive / West Lake Avenue

The east end of the route has been realigned to assume the Hunter Hills routing from Route 13.  From West Lake Station, buses will operate via West Lake Avenue, Joseph E. Boone Boulevard, Holly Road, Ezra Church Drive, Chappell Road and North Avenue to existing routing. Service along West Lake Avenue between Joseph E. Boone Boulevard and North Avenue will now be provided by Route 58. New schedules for Weekday, Saturday, and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change. The new service will be called Route 853 – Collier Heights.

Route 56 – Adamsville / Collier Heights

Route 56 has been renumbered and added to MARTA’s Community Circulator service.  The new service will be called Route 856 – Baker Hills / Wilson Mill Meadows.

Route 58 – Atlanta Industrial / Hollywood Road

The entirety of the route has been realigned to provide improved north-south connectivity.  Route 58’s southern terminus will now be West End Station.  Here, the route will assume Route 67’s alignment between West End and West Lake Stations.  However, southbound trips will travel to West End Station via Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard instead of Oglethorpe Avenue.  At West Lake Station, the route will board and alight in the east bay and continue north via West Lake Avenue, Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, Hollywood Road and Browntown Road.  Select trips will also serve Lincoln Homes via Audrey Place, Marco Drive, Bridgeport Drive, Marco Drive, Argyle Drive and Maldo Drive.  From Browntown Road, buses will continue north on Bolton Road, south on James Jackson Parkway and west on Peyton Road back to Bolton Road.   Service along the remaining portions of Route 58 will now be provided by Routes 50, 60 and 153.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 58 – West Lake Avenue / Hollywood Road.

Route 60 – Hightower / Moores Mill

Trip time adjustments have been made to improve schedule adherence.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 60 – Hightower Road.

Route 66 – Lynhurst Drive / Greenbriar

The southern terminus of the route has been extended south to assume the current Route 93 alignment to Camp Creek Marketplace.  From North Camp Creek Parkway, the service will now operate via Hogan Road, North Camp Creek Parkway, Fairburn Road, Old Fairburn Road and Camp Creek Parkway.  From here, the route will operate clockwise along Princeton Lakes Parkway, Redwine Road, North Commerce Drive and Centre Parkway back to Camp Creek Parkway.  Service along the remaining portions of Route 66, including the Royal Oaks Apartments, will now be provided by Route 93.  Also, service to Benjamin E. Mays High School will only be provided by select trips on Route 68.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 66 – Lynhurst Drive / Princeton Lakes.

 

Route 67 – Lucile Avenue / Dixie Hills

The southern portion of Route 67 between West Lake Station and West End Station has been transferred to Route 58.  The Dixie Hills portion of the Route will become part of a new Community Circulator Route 867.  From H.E. Holmes Station, Route 867 will travel west on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.  Alternating trips will operate via Harlan Road or Peyton Place to Peyton Road and H.E. Holmes Drive.  From here, the route will continue to West Lake Station via Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.  Select trips will also serve Florida Heights via Barfield Avenue, Larchwood Road and Wynnwood Drive back to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.  From West Lake Station, Route 867 will assume Route 67’s current routing through Dixie Hills with one exception.  At Anderson Avenue, the route will now travel via Tiger Flowers Drive, Morris Brown Avenue, Morehouse Drive and Croecus Avenue back to eastbound Tiger Flowers Drive.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday, Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change. The new service will be called Route 867 – Harlan Road / Peyton Place / Dixie Hills.

Route 68 – Donnelly Avenue / Peyton

Service to Harlan Road, Peyton Road and Peyton Place will now be provided by new Route 867.  Route 68 will continue to H.E. Holmes Station via Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 68 – Benjamin E. Mays Drive.

Route 82 – Camp Creek Parkway / Welcome All Road

The western terminus of Route 82 has been realigned from the South Fulton Service Center to the new Walmart Distribution Center off of South Fulton Parkway.  From Welcome All Road, the route will now travel via Roosevelt Highway, South Fulton Parkway, Derrick Industrial Parkway and Derrick Road back to South Fulton Parkway.  The South Fulton Service Center will continue to be served by Route 180.  On weekdays, select Route 82 trips will also continue to serve the Georgia Department of Revenue on Welcome All Road.  In addition, supplemental trips will be provided between College Park Station and Camp Creek Marketplace during weekday peak periods.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 82 – Camp Creek / South Fulton Parkway.

Route 84 – Washington Road / Camp Creek Marketplace

Routing has been extended further south on Washington Road to serve the segment of North Commerce Drive between Centre Parkway and Washington Road.  From here, the route will continue north to Camp Creek Marketplace and circulate via Redwine Road, Princeton Lakes Parkway and Centre Parkway back to North Commerce Drive.  Service along Desert Drive will continue to be provided by Route 82.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.

Route 93 – Headland Drive / Princeton Lakes

The western terminus of Route 93 has been modified to terminate on North Camp Creek Parkway at the Royal Oaks Apartments bus turnaround.  Segments between Stone Road and Camp Creek Marketplace have been assumed by Route 66.  In addition, Route 93 has been extended south from East Point Station to serve College Park Station via Main Street currently operated by Route 181.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 93 – Headland Drive / Main Street.

Route 94 – Northside Drive

Route 116 – Redan Road

Eastbound routing has been adjusted to serve Lithonia via Max Cleland Boulevard, Swift Street and Main Street.  Westbound routing is not affected.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.

Route 121 – Memorial Drive / North Hairston Road

Route 153 – H.E. Holmes / Browntown

The northern end of the route has been modified to operate via Northwest Drive, Bolton Road, Browntown Road and James Jackson Parkway.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 153 – James Jackson Parkway.

Route 165 – Fairburn Road / Barge Road Park & Ride

Route 180 – Fairburn / Palmetto

Route 180 has been modified to operate the entire length of Roosevelt Highway between College Park Station and Palmetto.  Service along the remaining portions of Route 180 will now be provided by Routes 82, 84 and 181.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 180 – Roosevelt Highway.

Route 181 – Buffington Road / South Fulton Park & Ride

The northern portion of the route has been modified to provide continuous service along Washington Road between Roosevelt Highway and East Point Station.  In addition, the routing between Flat Shoals Road and Jonesboro Road has been changed.  From Flat Shoals Road, trips will continue west to Shannon Parkway and Jonesboro Road.  Alternating trips will operate via Oakley Road and Mall Boulevard.  Route 181 will no longer serve South Fulton Park & Ride or the select trips to Bank of America.  Instead, these trips will be provided by Route 189.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.  The new service will be called Route 181 – Washington Road / Fairburn.

Route 189 – Flat Shoals Road / Scofield Road

Select weekday trips have been extended to serve the Bank of America office on Feldwood Road.  New schedules for Weekday service have been created to accommodate this change.

Route 191 – Riverdale / ATL International Terminal

Routing has been realigned to provide service along South Atlanta Parkway.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.

Route 195 – Forest Parkway

Trip time adjustments have been made to improve schedule adherence.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.

Route 196 – Upper Riverdale / Southlake

Trip time adjustments have been made to improve schedule adherence.  In addition, the supplemental weekday PM peak period trips have been extended to operate the entire length of the route from College Park Station to Southlake Mall.  New schedules for Weekday, Saturday and Sunday/holiday service have been created to accommodate this change.

NEW Route 850 – Carroll Heights / Fairburn Heights

New Community Circulator service has been added to serve between H.E. Holmes Station and the Collier Ridge Apartments.  From H.E. Holmes Station, Route 850 will operate via H.E. Holmes Drive and Collier Drive.  Alternating trips will serve Carroll Heights (Bolton Road, Croft Place, Clovis Court, Mercury Drive and Fairburn Road to Bolton Road) and Fairburn Heights (Fairburn Road to Bolton Road).  From here, all trips will continue to the Collier Ridge Apartments via Bolton Road, Bankhead Highway, Harwell Road, Kingston Road and Skipper Drive.  This new service will operate daily on a 30-minute frequency.  Please refer to the new Route 850 printed service schedules for trip times.

Route 867 – Harlan Road / Peyton Place / Dixie Hills

The Dixie Hills portion of the Route will become part of a new Community Circulator Route 867.  From H.E. Holmes Station, Route 867 will travel west on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.  Alternating trips will operate via Harlan Road or Peyton Place to Peyton Road and H.E.
