Please review the information below and rate each technology in terms of how appropriate it is for the Clifton Corridor. The technologies under consideration include, light rail (LRT1), bus rapid transit (BRT1), and heavy rail transit (HRT4). Please be aware that all transit options are proposed to operate in tunnels below Lenox Road, the intersection of North Decatur and Clairmont Roads, and portions of Scott Boulevard. HRT4 terminates beneath the intersection of North Decatur and Clairmont Roads.
BRT 1 provides 8.3 miles of bus rapid service from Lindbergh Center to Avondale Station that operates adjacent to the CSX rail right-of-way through the CDC/Emory University area to Clairmont Road at North Decatur Road. BRT1 would then extend south and run along the medians of Scott Boulevard, North Decatur Road, DeKalb Industrial Way and terminate at Avondale Station.

HRT 4 provides heavy rail service that operates adjacent to CSX rail right-of-way from Lindbergh Center through the CDC/Emory University area, and then terminates at Clairmont Road at North Decatur Road. Local bus transfer is available for connection to Avondale Station. As HRT4 is compatible with the existing MARTA rail system, it is able to provide direct rail service from the Airport, Doraville, and North Springs without transferring at Lindbergh Center.
