Planning oversees a wide variety of programs and activities that range from corridor planning to environmental analysis and transit oriented development.
MARTA Planning programs generally fall into three general categories each including:
- Transit System Planning (TSP)
- Transit Oriented Development (TOD)
- Regional Service Coordination
Each of these planning units is an office unto itself and is responsible for implementing planning activities consistent with the development of existing and future rail and bus services.
Office of Transit System Planning (TSP)
The Office of TSP is responsible for the planning, design, and scheduling of all bus and rail service. This includes development of service plans as required for the Authority’s operating budget, intermediate service initiatives, and long range expansion projects. In addition, TSP works with regional partners to develop the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and regional Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). There are four branches within the Office of TSP. Please click on any of the following for more information.
