Rail On-Time Performance

Definition: Measures how closely the service ran to schedule (delays no longer than 5 minutes), as experienced by the customer. Many factors affect on-time performance. Factors such as mechanical problems, or speed restrictions are within our control. Others like medical emergencies are not. Regardless of the cause, MARTA strives to work around problems, minimize delay, and maximize on-time performance.

Performance (September 2016 and Fiscal year-to-date):

In September, met the Target; the actual being 96.67%. 181 delays were passenger issues related, 254 delays were related to rail car failures, 78 delays were related to Automated Train Control (ATC) issues, and 40 delays were related to wayside issues.
