Rail On-Time Performance

Definition: Measures how closely the service ran to schedule (delays no longer than 5 minutes), as experienced by the customer. Many factors affect on-time performance. Factors such as mechanical problems, or speed restrictions are within our control. Others like medical emergencies are not. Regardless of the cause, MARTA strives to work around problems, minimize delay, and maximize on-time performance.

Performance (October 2016):

In October, met the Target; the actual being 97.30%. 120 delays were caused by passenger related issues, 148 delays were caused by rail car failures, 77 delays were due to the Automated Train Control (ATC) related issues and 74 delays were due to track work.
