Part I Crime Rate

Definition: Measures the number of Part 1 Crimes, which includes four violent crimes (Homicide, Forcible Rape, Aggravated Assault, and Robbery) and four property crimes (Larceny/Theft, Motor Vehicle Theft, Burglary, and Arson) per one million  unlinked passenger boardings.


Performance (September 2016 and Fiscal year-to-date):

In September, met the Target; the actual being 3.77 - mostly due to a 60% decrease in Robbery related crimes from 5 in August to 2 in September. The overall number of crimes increased by 8% from 39 in August to 42 in September. Aggravated Assault related crimes increased by 13% from 7 in August to 8 in September; Larceny related crimes increased by 22% from 23 in August to 28 in September; and Motor Vehicle related crimes increased by 33% from 3 in August to 4 in September.
