What Type of Information Should Be Provided When Contacting the Fraud, Waste & Abuse Hotline?
In order to act on any allegation, the Department of Internal Audit needs as much identifying information as possible regarding the persons and the details of what occurred. The more details, the better chance there is of determining what the next steps will be. Please include the following information when making a report on the hotline:
- Who committed the fraud, waste or abuse?
Name, Department/Office (if possible)
- Describe in as much detail as possible:
- What exactly was the fraud, waste or abuse?
- Where did it happen?
- When did it happen?
- Any other pertinent information?
Will the Identities of Callers Be Kept Confidential?
All calls will be recorded on a non-traceable phone line and the identity of callers will be kept confidential to the extent possible by law.
What Can I Expect if I Make A Report to the Hotline?
The Department of Internal Audit is committed to reviewing all complaints seriously and in a timely manner. All allegations will be investigated thoroughly by the appropriate officials. Employees will not be punished in any way for contacting the Fraud, Waste & Abuse Hotline.
