On February 2, 2011, MARTA was pleased to welcome 15 talented and motivated students from Junior Achievement of Georgia, Inc. – Atlanta District for a Job Shadow Day. Students, representing high schools from throughout Atlanta, spent a day with MARTA staff to learn about career opportunities in transit and what it takes to provide quality transit service to our region and state. The students, who as part of their Junior Achievement experience have created two companies to sell environmentally friendly products, also presented their merchandise – treeless paper, biodegradable trash bags and stapleless staples – to MARTA staff. The group enjoyed lively and insightful discussions about career planning, professional development and networking.
