MARTA is Improving
Airport Station
MARTA is modernizing and improving Airport Station to better serve travelers and employees at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
- MARTA’s Airport Station will temporarily close for six weeks, April 8 – May 19, 2024.
- Take MARTA to College Park Station, then shuttle buses and ADA accessible MARTA Mobility shuttles will connect to the airport. There is no additional cost to ride the shuttle.
- Allow an extra 30 minutes when taking MARTA to the airport.
Catch the Shuttle at College Park Station
- Red and Gold lines will terminate at College Park Station.
- Shuttle buses will depart from the College Park Station bus loop and drop off at the North Terminal Lower Level of the airport – Doors LN1 and LN2.
- Shuttle drop off is conveniently located near the airport employee entrance.
- Shuttles will operate 22 hours per day: 4 a.m. – 2 a.m.
Catch the Shuttle at the Airport
- Follow the signs to Ground Transportation and North Baggage Claim.
- MARTA Shuttle to Train” signs will lead downstairs to the North Terminal Lower Level where you can board the shuttle between doors LN1 and LN2.
- Delta customers should follow the signs from South Baggage Claim to North Baggage Claim and North Terminal Lower Level – Doors LN1 and LN2 – to catch the shuttle to College Park Station.
- International arrivals: Follow signs to Ground Transportation and take the airport shuttle to the Domestic Terminal. From there, follow the signs to the North Terminal Lower Level – Doors LN1 and LN2 – to catch the shuttle to MARTA’s College Park Station.

Why is Airport Station Temporarily Closed?
Construction has been ongoing at Airport Station, and the project has a reached a phase where work can be completed more safely and efficiently with a temporary closure.
MARTA worked with the Airport to establish the construction timetable using historical travel data. It was determined the travel lull experienced post-Spring Break and pre-Memorial Day was the best opportunity to complete this necessary work.
The six-week closure will ensure the safety of customers and workers and significantly reduce construction time by 17 months.
Station improvements will include:
- New RideStore
- Public art installation
- Replacement of all signage
- Renovation of employee areas
- New canopy complementing Airport canopy
- New flooring on concourse and platforms levels
- New wall cladding, ceilings, and lighting in concourse
- Rehabilitation of existing elevator and installation of new elevator
