Better Breeze Project Overview
MARTA is replacing its entire Breeze fare collection system with a modern, flexible system that is easier to use and more secure. The better Breeze system will keep the popular Breeze name, but all fare collection equipment and fare media will be replaced.
Better Breeze Features
With better Breeze, customers experience:
- Quick and easy contactless payment: Simply tap a physical bank card or use the mobile wallet feature on a smart phone or smart watch at a rail station faregate or bus validator.
- New equipment: Customers can use new faregates and fareboxes, validators, and modern, touchscreen Breeze vending machines.
- New faregates are harder to tamper with and can be monitored and adjusted remotely, reducing incidents of fare evasion and resulting in a safer, more secure transit system.
- New vending machines and validators are faster and more reliable, ensuring faster entry for an easier commute.
- New cards: The new system uses new physical cards with a fresh design and continued options for multi-day and monthly passes.
- New app: The new Breeze Mobile app is for account management only. It is not accepted as fare payment. Register and manage your physical and virtual cards by downloading the app
