Performance (March 2018):

The Cost per Rail Passenger Trip of $3.30 in March exceeded the forecast by $0.06, or 2%. This unfavorable variance was due to rail ridership falling short of the forecast by 0.6 million unlinked passenger boardings. The 2018 Fiscal Year-to-Date (months of July through March) Cost per Rail Passenger Trip of $3.38 exceeded the forecast by $0.08, or 2%. This unfavorable variance is due to rail ridership falling short of the forecast by 4.8 million unlinked passenger boardings.
