MPD PROUDLY ACCEPTS TRANSIT THEMED ARTWORK FROM TUCKER HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

ATLANTA - The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Police Department proudly accepted several pieces of transit themed artwork created by students from Tucker High School.

The art was presented by the high school’s Art teacher, Mr. Antwi Boasiako, and his students in December. Mr. Boasiako’s class used MARTA as the inspiration for one of their 2023 painting class activities titled “At the Transit Station”. His class wanted to present the paintings as a gesture for the incredible services that MARTA provides to the people in and around the metro Atlanta area.

“I want to express our gratitude for this thoughtful gesture from the art staff and students of Tucker High School,” said Chief M. Scott Kreher. “It is an honor to provide a safe and secure transit system that can also serve as an avenue for students to explore and strengthen their creative abilities.”

The art will be displayed around the MARTA Police Headquarters building as a token of appreciation for the art students’ hard work, talent and generosity.
